Thysma
Born and raised in Arnhem, the Netherlands, Thijs started electronic music production at the age of ten. Many years of piano experience gave him the opportunity to create progressions on his laptop in an early stage. After producing many different genres, the dance industry got his attention at the end of 2019. While studying Electronic Music Production at the Fontys Rock academy in Tilburg (NL), Thijs noticed he needed more musical freedom.
The following year was fully focused on writing songs, producing music and mixing sets which started his career under his alias ‘Thysma’. Early support by Mark Tarmonea resulted in his first signed productions. Combining melodic techno with deep house results in happy, yet tense productions. On March 26, 2021, Thijs’ EP called ‘Shapes’ got released on BIACS Recordings, the start of a constant flow of releases. After ‘Shapes’ reached a worldwide audience, the interest in new music grew. Played by artists like Sultan + Shepard, Nora en Pure, Mees Salomé and many more, several new tracks signed on Immersed Recordings established a serious career. In the summer of 2021, he caught the eye of the Ame/Laroc team in Brazil, where he played several times alongside names such as Above & Beyond, Mees Salomé, Paradoks and Cassian. With music released on outstanding labels like Purified, Colorize and Zerothree, Thijs has a bright future ahead of him.
