MY BABY

MY BABY have carved out a singular place in today’s music world, fusing blues, gospel, funk, psychedelic trance and dance into a hypnotic, ritualistic sound that defies easy categorisation.

Formed in Amsterdam in 2012, the trio comprised of Dutch siblings Cato van Dijck (vocals/bass/violin), Joost van Dijck (drums) and New Zealand guitarist Daniel “DaFreez” Johnston, quickly became known for raw live energy and boundary-pushing grooves that blend roots and rave in equal measure.

Across more than a decade, MY BABY have taken this immersive sound to major festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury, Pinkpop, Exit, Sziget and Lowlands, where in 2025 they delivered a standout performance at Lowlands (see video below) that brought their trance-like rhythms and soulful intensity to one of Europe’s most revered festival stages.

2025 also saw the release of their sixth studio album, Echo. The album is a deeply cinematic and hypnotic journey through myth, trance and time. Across tracks like “Echo,” “Siren Song” and “Smiley Virus,” the band expands their signature delta-trance sound with pulsing rhythms, swirling guitar textures and Cato’s entrancing vocals that meld past and present into something both primal and futuristic. Echo bridges blues-driven grooves with electronic energy, showcasing the band at their most ambitious yet.

From intimate club shows to massive festival fields, MY BABY’s live reputation is built on dazzling performances that feel like collective trance rituals, drawing listeners into ecstatic grooves that linger long after the final beat.

With Echo, MY BABY continue to evolve as a band that honours roots, embraces exploration, and speaks to listeners ready to lose themselves in the music’s echoing reverberations.
